EP 09 · My Lord, Holy
Los Cabos — Golden Hour on the Rocky Shore
On the Pacific side of Los Cabos, the day ends the slow way: low sun, warm rock, and waves in no hurry at all.

The Rocky Shore at Golden Hour
Los Cabos sits at the very tip of the Baja California peninsula, where desert hills run down to meet the sea. On this stretch of shore, the sand shares the beach with granite — big weathered boulders scattered along the waterline, worn smooth by the waves. Late in the day, when the sun swings low over the Pacific, the whole shore changes colour: the rock turns copper, the sand glows, and the headland across the bay goes soft and pink.

We filmed this the slow way — one unhurried pan along the shore, slowed down even further, so you can watch the light sit on the rocks and the waves roll in at their own pace. To see it yourself: this is a Pacific-side sunset, the classic Los Cabos way to end a day, out toward the El Arco side of the point. In late October the sun goes down at about 5:45 in the evening, local time, and the colour builds for a good half hour before that, so be on the sand by about 5:15. Pick a dry rock above the waterline, face the open ocean — and watch from the shore, not the surf: this is open Pacific, and its waves deserve respect.
No ticket, no reservation, no schedule — the day just closes like this, evening after evening, over this shore. It is hard to watch it and not say thank you.
