My Lord, Holy

EP 05 · My Lord, Holy

The Night Harbour — Peace Across the Water

A whole bay of lights, and still the night was quiet — because His peace does not depend on the place.

A harbour at night, city lights reflected on dark water

A Harbour at Night

I stood by the water at night and watched the whole bay light up — towers, boats, reflections sliding over the dark surface. All those lights across the water, and still the night felt quiet, because His peace does not depend on the place. You do not have to wait for life to calm down before you can rest. Partway along the shore the city slowly went dark, building by building, until only the water and a line of far-off lights were left. But His watch never did go dark. He neither slumbers nor sleeps — so I can. If your soul needs a place to land tonight, let it land here. My Lord, holy.
