EP 08 · My Hong Kong
Your Hong Kong, Not Mine
The first seven episodes were my Hong Kong. This one passes the mic: where you fly from, who comes, your budget, what you care about — then build your own decision.
The first seven episodes were my Hong Kong: wind on the harbour, boats at the pier, a late bowl of noodles. This episode hands you the mic — because your Hong Kong should not be a copy of mine.
01 — Looking back: my Hong Kong
Seven episodes later, my Hong Kong looks about like this: skyline from the waterfront walk, a red-sail junk heading out, lights on both shores at night. Scenery is what Hong Kong never lacks — but after living here you learn scenery is only the base layer.
02 — Night harbour, never tired

I have shot the night harbour many times. The angle is usually similar — and it still feels worth it. Some views work like that: visitors check in once; people who live here look a hundred times.
03 — Small moments and family

Besides the big views there are small moments: an egret over the water, family laughter, the Shiba that never runs far. The city is large. What you remember is often these small things.
04 — Turn: your turn

This was my list, my pace, my Hong Kong. When you come, do not copy my list. No matter how detailed someone else's guide is, it cannot answer one question: what kind of trip do you actually want?
05 — Four questions

Do not rush the itinerary. Answer four questions first: Which city do you fly from? Who is coming? What is the budget? Do you care most about food, views, or slowing down? Honest answers to these beat ten guide articles.
06 — Your story starts now

Tell XingAI those answers. It will build a Hong Kong decision for you — not a copy of mine, but one from your departure city, companions, budget, and preferences. My story is done. Yours should start.

- EP 01The Hong Kong I Called HomeSix months in Hong Kong. This is the city I lived in, not the one visitors pass through.
- EP 02The Harbor I Kept Coming Back ToPeople say Hong Kong's soul is in Victoria Harbour. After six months, I believed it. Not a guidebook — why I kept coming back.
- EP 03What I Actually Ate in Hong KongNot a top-ten list — meals I actually ate, with photos: dai pai dong, double rice, steamed fish, roast meats, roujiamo.
- EP 04Hong Kong in MotionHong Kong is small, but I was on the road every day. Bridges, ferries, the waterfront walk — how I actually crossed the city.
- EP 05Small Moments I Didn't PlanBefore Hong Kong I made a list. What I remember most was never on it — an egret, a cloudy harbour, horse statues, a plaque I finally read.
- EP 06Hong Kong With FamilyPeople ask where Hong Kong is most fun. I cannot name a place. I remember who held whose hand. Flip the photos — people are the subject.
- EP 07What I'd Do Again — and DifferentlyAfter six months in Hong Kong: would return (harbour, dai pai dong, waterfront), would skip (viral queues), surprises, and advice for whoever comes next.
- EP 08Your Hong Kong, Not MineThe first seven episodes were my Hong Kong. This one passes the mic: where you fly from, who comes, your budget, what you care about — then build your own decision.
