First time in Los Cabos?

Los Cabos is two towns and a coast between them: loud marina Cabo San Lucas, quieter plaza San José del Cabo, and the Corridor resorts facing the Sea of Cortez. A good first visit picks one spine — swim-and-arch in Cabo, or art-and-estuary in San José — and budgets taxis for the rest. Heat is constant; the postcard Arch usually wants a boat.

3 ways to experience Los Cabos

None of them is “the best”. Each one gives up something to get something else.

Essentials Los Cabos

A first Cabo San Lucas day: marina and downtown, Médano Beach, then Land's End for El Arco light. Expect heat, taxis, and that the best arch views usually need a boat.

Why this route

  • • It teaches Cabo's real shape in one day: marina town, swim beach, then the rock tip.
  • • Clusters only move forward: marina → Médano → Land's End.
  • • It is honest about boats: El Arco is the icon, but water access is what makes the photo.

Good for

  • First visit to Cabo San Lucas
  • Beach and harbour in one day
  • Travellers who will take a taxi

Trade-offs

  • • Midday heat on Médano is real. Bring shade, water and a slower pace.
  • • San José del Cabo is not on this route — use Local for the art town and estuary.
  • • Without a boat, El Arco and Lover's Beach are weaker than the postcard. Plan the water leg or accept shore-only views.
